Kara Hayden Attitude Adjustment Massage In Anchorage

About Kara – Attitude Adjustments Massage

Welcome – I’m a licensed massage therapist in Anchorage, Alaska, specializing in therapeutic and medical massage that supports pain relief, mobility, recovery, and long-term wellness. While everyone is welcome in my practice, I have a special place in my heart for veterans. My goal is to support both the civilian and veteran communities through compassionate, personalized care. A Lifelong Path Into Healing Work

Massage therapy has been a part of my life since childhood. In the 1960s, my mother was the only chiropractor in our small rural community. Back then, most people didn’t know what chiropractic care was, and even fewer understood why a woman would choose that profession. Because she worked alone, she taught me how to assist with massage work to help soften tight muscles before spinal manipulation.

This was long before massage therapy licensing existed, and before I knew it, I was helping with many of her patients –  and almost all of my relatives. I often say I’ve been doing massage therapy my entire life, and in many ways, it’s true.

A Family Connected to Service

I am not a veteran myself, but I grew up surrounded by stories of service. My father served in the Korean War, and both of my grandfathers were veterans of World War II. One of them even served on horseback in Sweden during World War I before immigrating to the United States and joining the Navy. These experiences shaped my family, even when they were rarely spoken aloud.

My connection to the veteran community is personal, heartfelt, and enduring – another reason I am proud to be joining the Veterans Community Care Network through TriWest in 2026. Veterans can learn more about future access and requirements on the service page.

Committed to Advanced Training & Continual Growth

As a licensed massage therapist, I deeply believe in lifelong learning. Although Alaska requires 16 continuing education hours per year, I routinely exceed that. This year alone, I’ve completed more than 75 CEUs –  including advanced therapeutic training in specialty modalities that few therapists in Anchorage are certified to use.

These modalities allow me to offer highly customized sessions designed to meet the unique needs of each client.

Working With Clients & Their Service Animals

I also love working with clients who rely on service animals or disability support dogs. At first, I worried they might think I was hurting their owner during deeper therapeutic work, but they always seemed to understand I was there to help. Their calm, intuitive presence continues to remind me what a gift these animals truly are.

My Philosophy of Care

My approach blends experience, intuition, advanced therapeutic knowledge, and a deep respect for every person who walks through my door. Whether you are seeking medical massage in Anchorage, support with chronic pain, help recovering from injury, or massage therapy connected to a VA referral, my goal is to help your body move, function, and feel better.

When you’re ready to schedule, you’re welcome to book through my secure online system on the Appointments page.

I look forward to supporting you on your wellness journey and providing a healing space where you feel safe, cared for, and understood.
